    Buckmark and red dot

I put a red dot on my Buckmark and at 50 yds, no problem getting good groups from the bench. But, the damm thing does no hold zero. Was not the most expensive (~$90), but not the cheapest either. Anyone have recommdations on a good red dot for this app that will hold zero? Price range $100-150.

Which red dot did you get? I got the sight mark on mine and holds zero well and paid about $60. Should have got the burris. Their about $230.

I have a Bushnell TRS-25 on my Contour. Mounted right up and has held zero through about 500 rds so far. I'm pretty pleased with this combo.

Be sure the scope mount base screws are tight.

My buddy got a Contour and added the Browning muti-reticle panorama sight... not sure if it is just a Chinese produced sight with Browning label on it, but it seems to work for him. I think they are about $60. Sightmark has the exact same design as the Browning and so do NC STAR and others.

I have a TRS-25 that I like. It is actually looking like it will get moved to my Ruger MarkII Government, and I think it will work good there - so two votes for the Bushnell. Cabela's puts these on sale for $80 often and I think they are on special now.

I had a trs-25 and regret selling it every day...I'll get another one for my 10/22 but I think for my buckmark I'll go smaller like a Burris fastfire. I know it's pricey but it would be a dedicated sight with a lot of use.

                Yea, ^, what he said.....

If your sitebase wont stay tight, unscrew the screws, use a qtip (tight fit) and soak it in alcohol and thread it into the holes to remove any lubricant, grease, oils, etc...continue until completly clean....air dry and use green or blue loctite....do not use red! this worked for me....

Debating on what to get for the buckmark. The trs 25 or the smaller fastfire for twice the price? Any recommendations?

No, not removing the dot sight off the rail when cleaning.

Primary Arms Micro Red Dot, mine work well and are a great price. They hold zero well, I have one mounted on my 10/22 and it brings me all day shooting joy.

I'll third that recommendation. Also, if you find you're getting FTF or FTE, that's the first thing to check. Those screws sometimes get loose, and once that railed topcover gets even a little loose it makes the gun all sloppy. Otherwise they function like tops.

1" Millett. Seems to hold good for me out to about 65yds from a bench.
