New CZ 455 Lux .22LR rifle

Hi guys -- I just scored a CZ455 Lux .22LR rifle. To be honest it was an impulse purchase. I have been wanting a good bolt action .22LR rifle and when I saw this one I snapped it up, as the price was reasonable, CZ has a good rep for making firearms, and guns disappear quickly so he who hesitates is lost. But I did not do my usual due diligence research before buying the gun.

Anyone tell me a bit about this rifle while I am enduring the California suck 10 day waiting period?

I have the 455 FS in .22 LR. You'll love the CZ 455 Lux.

You are GTG on the CZ buy. Now get a decent rimfire scope with adj parallax/distance.

CZ is the best rimfire for the money by a LONG shot.

          Some junk wallyworld ammo

Make sure you get a Yo Dave trigger upgrade.

I have one with Nikon glass on it and it is a true tack driver. I upgraded the trigger with a Timmney and it shoots very well. It loves CCI AR tactical 40 gr. RN plated ammo.

I also ordered the .22WMR barrel for it! So now it will be able to use common magazines with my CZ512 .22WMR when configured for that caliber.

Bought both CZs at Turners Fountain Valley.

                        Congratulations!

I think this will be one of those times where you bought on impulse and didn't do your due diligence and everything still
worked out okay. You really cant go wrong with the CZ Lux be careful though...these guns can be very addicting. I bought my
first one in April and my 6th one (452 Ultra Lux) gets picked up next week.

My CZ's are mostly stock (the exception being a lighter trigger spring) and each one is capable of consistant MOA or sub MOA shooting. The trigger options mentioned here are good ones. I second the rimfirecentral suggestion. There is a TON of great information and knowledgeable folks in the CZ forum.

My CZ's likes midgrade ammo like Wolf MT/Sk Standard Plus and Eley Target. It shoots well with CCI SV but groups tighten up with the other stuff. The Lux has really nice stock tangent sights, or you could opt for the peeps (which I like even better) if you decide not to scope it. Check out the stickys and posts at rimfirecentral and you'll be fully prepared for good times when your Lux arrives. CZ's are kind of the Lays potato chips of guns though (you cant have just one), maybe start setting aside a couple of bucks each month just in case.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. Mayelbox, yes, I agree having now done my due diligence retrospectively I am quite pleased with having the CZ455 in the gun safe. I pick her up on Sunday. Can't wait!

Already ordered a .22WMR barrel for it as that round is one of my favs.

The gun was $399 and the .22 WMR barrel was around $140 (not exactly; doing that one from memory).

You can get the exact cost of the barrel on the CZ website.
