The Catch22, mag adapters, and Smith and Wesson magazines came today.

Here's a pic of two S&W 15-22 mags, one empty and one with two dummy rounds. The orange extension on the back of the magazine is actually part of the follower.

Here's another pic from a different angle.

The Catch22 has an extended shelf for engaging the follower. The tab that extends 90 degrees from the shelf is the bolt-stop. Here's a pic with two dummy rounds in the magazine. The Catch22 in not engaged.

Here is a pic of the Catch22 and an empty S&W 15-22 magazine. The Catch22 is engaged by the extension on the follower and the tab extending up holds the bolt open.

I didn't even know what the mag adapters were, but I ordered them anyway. It seems the S&W mags are little narrow front-to-back when inserted in the mag well. The adapters are really just spacers to make sure the mag doesn't rock in the magwell and so the follower on the magazine makes contact with the Catch22 bolt catch.

The spacer and the magazines look scuffed up because I was using a block of wood and sandpaper to get a better fit. I'll polish them up later. Anyway, the Catch22 bolt catch, spacer, and S&W magazines make this .22 rimfire rifle work exactly like a centerfire AR15. Mags insert and drop the way they're supposed to, although I need to work on these mags to make them drop-free.

BDM mags will work with the Catch22, but will not lock the bolt back on an empty mag. You can still manually lock the bolt open.

The Catch22 is far superior to the CMMG BHOA. It costs a little more and you have to use Smith & Wesson 15-22 magazines, but it is well worth it. If Smith and Wesson starts to flood the market with their magazines, BDM better look for another source of income.

As for the Gen1 mags, the 10rnd mags were horse **** because they had an area that the channel would wear out in within 300 rounds and the follower would get stuck.

I do like the Gen2 mags (the new ones)... Meh.
I was lucky with mine, the BHOA dropped in my CMMG lower and did not require any fitting. The BHOA adapter has been reliable with my Evo mags
but the mags required a little sanding to drop free from the CMMG lower, didn't have this issue with my other 2 lowers.

        The biggest plus for me
about the catch22 is having the option
        of 2 different magazines.

I ordered 3 mags with my upper back in 2011 and picked up 2 more in the MP last year. Haven't had any luck since then, the BHOA works when paired with Evo mags.
I'm sure the Catch 22 works well but I still want the option to run my lower with any upper.
