Kimber match 22 lr rifle government surplus CMP

Just had one of these arrive. I must say I was stunned at the quality of this rifle. The gun has to be one of the most solid 22lr rifles I have held. It has the same feel as my McCoy Garand or Tikka M595 308.

The barrel has to be one inch in dimameter, and the stock is a beautiful walnut with a low luster finish. Granted, its not a Weatherby stock, but its better than 95% of most guns on the market.

The supplied match sights are robust, and reportedly sturdy and accurate.

CMP says these guns are rusty, and mine had no rust on the gun or bolt, but there was some spots of rust on the knurled knobs on the target sight, and a bit on the front hooded sight itself. I little oil and a toothbrush dispatched with that.

These guns can be bought for $425.00 with $24.00 shipping. I have to say that it an amazing deal for such a fine piece of steel and wood.

Seconded. $425 is a steal for these rifles.

Probably wasn't even actual rust on the sights. These things were covered in a yellow preservative(notice the color of the bag) that clumped up and turned a little orange when dried. If you haven't cleaned off the stock, I suggest doing so unless you don't mind ending up with a yellow cheek and hands.

Hey, you could be right//. There were little orangish red specks you could brush off, all of the rags and table top paper cover were yellow, as were my hands and shirt....

I wish you had written that before I ruined my shirt!!

Man, the gun is just as solid as a battleship. I cannot wait to hit Burro and try it out at 100 anbd 200 yards with some aguilla

We must have placed our orders around the same time. I received my Rusty this past Monday. I did not have a chance to clean mine up or even open the package that the bolt and sights are sealed up in. Mine looks to be in great condition without any rust, but Sargent Slash put a deep scratch along the left side of the stock

Was he in command of his assistant Private Slingblade?

But even with the scratch, still a hell of a deal.

Here's the thread I started in deals and coupons. The pic is not my gun, but its similiar. Mine has a bit more figure in the walnut.

CMP reported less than 400 in stock a short time ago, so if you want one, order yesterday!

                      Good Luck,

Welcome to the Kimber club. Even if you do not see any rust, be sure to take the bolt apart and check its guts. The worst rust on mine was on the firing pin.

Those are some awesome .22lr's. They are competition ready and what an amazing price from CMP. Wish Walther and Kimber still made precision 22lr.
