Done, thanks. Need help removing 10/22 front sight

Currently trying to take front sight off. Going from left to right, using a punch and hammer. Already added some lube to dovetail seam and let it sit for 15 minutes. Also drilled small spot to help center punch. Still can't get the damn thing off! Even tried using a heavy contractors hammer! Any tips or should I just drill a hole through the center of the site an break it off.

Btw, used search feature didn't find anything.

Oh! I had just started drilling to break it. Guess I'll stop. Can't believe this freakin thing is not coming off! If I hit it any harder with the hammer I'm risking my hand big time.

I've run across a couple that are really, really tight.
So far I have been able to drive them all out.

The weight of the punch adds to the moving power.
A too-light punch will bounce not drive.
Use as heavy a punch as you can.

        I wouldn't drill it.
You might want to put the barrel in the freezer overnight and try again when the parts are cold.

Bigger punch worked! I drilled a bit deeper, used a larger punch and my gunsmith hammer instead of the 10lb I was using. It finally popped off. Now I'm icing my thumb.
