The .22lr expends all of its energy in 12 to 14 inches of barrel. Anything longer is just wasting energy.
With that in mind, I bought a MKII TR cuz it looks cooler then the FS

I thought it was 18 inches. This could mean I can just go back to CMMG instead of looking for an 18 inch build LOL!Comment

Pretty sure it's 18 according to whistle pig who have quite a bit of experience with .22 barrelsComment

Nordic does and so does JP but since both are based off the Nordic upper and Nordic hasnt had any for sale in a year both are out of stock.John P. Hermesmeyer

I'm guessing the best way to go about it is to get the CMMG dedicated upper in 20" and just have a smith chop it down. You get a proven system that works with CMMG.Comment

+1. Get the barrel cut down to 18 inches on a 20" CMMG upper. Add a free float hand guard and you will have a tack driver.
I am 100 percent happy with my CMMG 16 inch .22 upper, even with a red dot it will shoot one ragged whole groups at 50 yards, non free floated. Proven system that works, and spare parts are easy to come by.Comment
