My Chiappa M4-22 upper experience (awesome)

I decided to build myself a trainer, so I slapped together a chiappa upper, new frontier complete polymer lower (I changed the hammer to the one they sell/recommend for .22), and a black dog mag with stainless feed lips. I took a box of golden bullets with me and hoped for the best...

Wow, was I surprised. Had a few fail to fires (worked when i tried again, and a fail to feed, but not a single fail to eject in a 120 round session. The bolt doesn't hold open, but I could care less if it means I have something that'll eat gb. IMO, it's gtg.

My 22 upper will be here tomorrow I also have a NfA poly lower I'm going to use but maybe I should swap out the hammer like you did.

I didn't even bother trying the original hammer because it seems to be an issue with 22 uppers. I read a good review where Chiappa was having him try all this wonky stuff, and he decided to try filing down the sides of the hammer and it resolved all his problems.

The mag it comes with is also said to be useless. I ordered my upper from PSA and they wouldn't ship the mag, hence, me having to buy black dogs.
