    Magazine question

This might sound stupid, but do you keep the magazines loaded at all times, does that damage the spring? Or do you only keep one loaded and just rotate?

Keeping a magazine fully loaded will not damage the spring.
If you build a man a fire, you'll keep him warm for the evening. If you set a man on fire, you'll keep him warm for the rest of his life.

I had some magazines for several different pistols loaded for 16 years. Then I got back into shooting and have used them frequently for the last 3 years. No problems whatever. So there is an anecdote for you.

Experts will tell us that only compressing and uncompressing a spring multiple times will affect its serviceability. My experience bears that out.

I agree with the last statement, that it's the number of duty cycles that wears a piece of metal out. Saw a lot of metal fatigue as a heavy equipment mechanic.
