    Henry, Browning or Marlin

I want to buy a 22lr lever action rifle..been looking at Henry H001, Browning BL-22, and Marlin 39a
I've heard good things about all..I am concerned the Browning is made in Japan, but would consider an older rifle...matter of fact, would probably rather have an older rifle...it will be for plinkin only..
I realize the Henry is in a different price range..but I've read from a number of sources, you get what you pay for, and the quality of the Marlin and Browning are steps ahead of the Henry..

I have a Henry, very smooth action, accurate, built to a price point. The Marlin and Browning will run more, but are worthy in their own right. Don't shy away from the Browning because it is built in Japan, it is a first rate rifle. I have an older Japanese BLR in .308 that is an excellent rifle. Good shooting.

I do like th quality of a Browning. JUst picked up a Browning 1911-22a for my wife.great quality even though it was a little pricey.

Henry, the others are good also but what you save in the price difference you can spend on ammo soon as its available.

Henry H001, action smooth and very accurate out of the box.

The receiver appears to be painted like a Ruger 1022, not blued. But what do you expect
at that price point, hard cased coloring?

A very nice rifle for the price.

I was in a local gun shop and they seem to have several Henry's..might just go down and grab one~ kinda like the short lever pull versus 90 degree of the Henry..but im shooting cans not squirrels.
Henry has some plastic that I don't care for..but it does no affect accuracy
If I could pick up a good used one like the one pictured aboe that would be cool.lots of metal)

The Browning has the shortest lever throw of all of them. I have small hands and don't even have to take m hand off the stock, just flick my fingers. I'm a Marlin fan when it comes to center-fire, but the BL-22 is a sweet little gun.

Henry hands down. I'm thinking of getting a big boy in 45 colt. Henry just puts out such a fine quality product.

I was in the same boat a few months back. I decided on the Henry. I finally was able to take it out to the range last week and break it in and it was smooth and dead accurate. I'm very happy with my decision.
