I Joined the CZ Club

CZ 455 American. Mueller APT 4.5-14 X 40 AO. UTG Accushot High Profile Rings.


I have a few mm to spare with the bolt throw so I might step down to some medium rings. Options are limited since the Mueller APT is a 30mm tube. I guess I could always get a 11mm dovetail to Weaver/Picatinny adapter.


First day out to the range to get it sighted in. Limited to 25 yds for now. First two shots were low and got it nearly dialed in by the third and forth shots. These are the first 10 shots


It really liked the CCI mini mags - typical 5 shot group at 25 yds.


I hope to get it out to 100 yds in the coming weeks.

Welcome to the club. I have a CZ453 Varmint and it looks and shoots amazing. I usually go 50 yards with standard velocity ammo. Once high velocity ammo drops from above supersonic to subsonic, the bullet will become unstable. With high velocity ammo at around 1280FPS, at about 50 yards the bullet will drop to about Mach 1 and might become unstable.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I see now what all the fuss is about these rifles. It really is a joy to shoot. Hard to put into words. I can get similar results with the 10/22 at this range but there is just a certain effortless feeling doing it with the CZ.

I got lucky with this one. I actually ventured into a local shop looking for a shotgun and they had a couple CZ .22s on the rack. This .22LR American and a FS in WMR. I knew if I didn't jump on the opportunity I most likely wouldn't be able to find one in town again soon.

Haha - Yup my first CZ but definitely not my last. As I said earlier I was looking for a shotgun. I ended up jailing a CZ Redhead 12ga O/U and should be getting that one home next week.

Well considering most of the CZ users on here are also rather prominent posters over at RFC like myself.

I honestly don't see much of a difference. All though Timberwolf, GMD, and a handful of others that aren't here have a wealth of knowledge tied with a engineering background.

But aside from that, most of the stuff said there is echoed pretty similarly here by us CZ users.

Once you own a CZ, you probably will starting becoming a fanboi yourself.

I thought about that too - I figure if I wanted the 17HMR I can always add it later for not really that much more than what the combo would have been.

I am fairly knowledgeable about the CZ platforms. If there are any questions, anyone can feel free to ask. I've already got many PM's from Calgun members asking for advise for their rifles.
