I've always been a fan of laminate, too. I have a Talo 10/22 with a laminate stock. Love it.

If you want to make an LTR for appleseed I would sell the marlin 60 and buy a 10/22.
Having detachable magazines is a huge help when trying to make riflemen.

I have a 10/22, and plenty of other 22s. Not looking for this to be a what rifle I should have bought thread.

Sorry you called it an LTR and that has a defined meaning.
If you can run a hand drill you can put in sling studs.
If you have to grind down the screw with a file or rotary tool no big deal.

            Sell it to me.

I know what a LTR is, and I know magazine-fed rifles are recommended (not required) due to the mid-shooting mag changes, but there are plenty of people who do Appleseed with a tube-fed rifle. Anyways, back on-topic, I just got done messing around with the rifle. I took the 1/2" front stud out of my 10/22 that I installed and with that little white washer that comes in the Allen Co. kit (not sure about Uncle Mikes), it may actually be an exact fit with very little to no filing. I might just order another set and give it a go!

The poll is 50/50, so here's the update: I got the Boyd's stock as a Father's Day present (well, it will be on it's way soon), so I guess that takes care of that! The Mrs. had seen me looking at it online!

The Boyd's Rimfire Hunter stock is a good one. I have one on my Marlin 925M in Jacarnada, solid stock, good quality.
