    Sears model 47

Does anyone know who made the sears roebuck modle 47 rifle. its a 22 caliber bolt actionwith a removable senve round magazine. i just got it and want to see about smooting out the trigger pull a bit and picking up a few more magazines. It only says sears on the barrel but i have taken it apart yet i may tell who made it under the stock.

If you post pictures somebody will probably recognize who made it and be able to help you.

ill take some pics today when i get home. ive got to refinsih the stock and get few more magazines if possible.
i got it from the original owner legal above board transfer dros etc. the bluing is excellent its got a chrome trigger guard and an ancient scop the old timer i mean old compared to me thats old! says the scope is at least seventy years old. but except for some wear and a few shallow scraopes on the stock its in excellent condition.
Im going to refinish the stock and take it shooting not in that order. I'd like to rework the trigger but we shall see after i shoot it its kind of harsh.

The number 47 is not coming up in my search. Are you sure about the numbers? The model 42 is a Marlin bolt action with a magazine.

Those were the days... pre 1968. You could buy the rifle out of the Sears catalog. Doesn't even have a serial number does it?

              Most likely a Marlin 80 copy. Here's a JC Higgins 49 Deluxe.

This one I converted to 17M2, And its a real shooter!

              here are a couple more, A Glenfield 25, and a Marlin 80.

They are excellent guns, I paid $40 in the 80s but wouldn't take much less than $200 for any of them now. DR
