Leading for sure....just pulled out a solid chunk of lead about 1-2mm in thickness and an inch long...i'm surprised the gun didn't explode when i sent bullets down the barrel

Lesson learned, no matter how desperate you are for .22 ammo, do NOT use Remington thunderbolt

Same thing happened to me with a Umarex HK MP5 A5 and Remington Thunderbolts.
The first 250 rounds went smooth and accurate. After that my shots were way off target even at like 10 feet. Besides the bad accuracy, the bullets were tumbling and keyholing the target.
A good cleaning and change of ammo fixed the problem.
I think it depends on the rifle as well. One of my buddies shoots a bunch of tha from a Ruger 10/22 and accuracy never fails.

Never tried the Thunderbolts, but for my M&P 15-22, it ran Remington Golden Bullets better than any other bulk ammo I found.

i take a .22 snake with me to the range and make sure I spray it down with some CLP break free or frog lube. let it soak at a line break and snake it through when hot. I take the pin out and make sure I get the chamber and the feed ramp. mine likes many kinds of .22 and shoots well for a 22lr - CCI stingers have been most accurate for mine BUT the mini mags also did pretty well. The remington Goldens dont work that well for mine but shoot what you got I say have fun & stay safe
            I mainly shoot .22lr, 9mm,45 acp, 357 & 38, 12G, 7.62x39, .308, .223/556, 7.62x54r, 300 win mag, 8x57

I ran TBs, GBs, Fed HP, Mini Mags and even some SK+ through my daughters
boy friends M&P with no problems. As far as I can tell by using copper washed
RN and or Copper washed HP with the TBs and GBs the CW seem to clean out the lead that the LRN left. You might try this the next time. This works on my other 22s. There will be a lot less lead in the barrel.

Thunderbolt 100% the issue. I had leading so bad I couldn't get a patch through. Glad you figured out the issue. Same thing with me, pulled out a chunk of lead and ruined a brush.
