Have a GSG 1911 that needs mods

Hello CG!

I just recently had a GSG 1911 sold to me for a ridiculously low price.

How can I change it?

I'd like to do a trigger job (never fond of the pull or the break on it) I found the CWA website and already have all those parts on order but, does anyone make trigger parts for it? What parts are interchangeable with standard 1911's? Are the grips standard for 1911's?

The sear on the gsg has smaller hole than a standard 1911 so it also has a smaller sear pin. The mainspring housing spring and mainspring housing pin retainer are also smaller. Mainspring housing cap pin is different design and the location of the mainspring housing cap pin is positioned on the side instead of the back of the mainspring housing. The grips are standard 1911 ambidextrous grips.

The trigger it self on the gsg sucks! Lol. If u want a lighter trigger, First U'll have to change the trigger to a Wilson combat ultralight match trigger( or something similar) then you'll have to mess around with the sear and hammer which means bringing out the file. I recommend u let a gunsmith do the sear and hammer modifications. Sometimes a new sear spring and mainspring are needed but not all the time.
I did both my sig 1911(45) and gsg. Both with Wilson combat flat ultralight match triggers.

I installed the CW bushing and guide rod.
Installed the Dawson Precision front and rear sights. Front fiber.
If you change out the sights - because the factory ones are garbage - be very careful and read the instructions from the people over in 1911forum.com.
I had to do some filing on both front and rear dovetail.
Dave Dawson shows you how to install his sights on YouTube.
The slide is a zinc alloy and can be damaged. Don't torque down if you put it in a bench vise.
I didn't run a lot of ammo thru it last time out but I had cycling issues.
It's probably a mixture of the tight bushing and change in mass/weight of guiderod and recoil spring.

I fired CCI minimags, Remington Thunderbolt, Winchester 22 grn HP and CCI minimag.

It may just need to be worked in but I'm not going to run 1000 rounds thru it since that would be 11 million dollars worth of ammo at current rate.
It's a fun plinker pistol and has as much accuracy as can be expected.

I wouldn't try and dial it in too much. That's for Ruger MKIII, 22/45 and exotic pistols.
And, change too many parts and you'll quickly add more to the pistol than what you paid for it.
