Lasermax on a 10/22?

Ok, can someone explain this to me.....what is the point of a Lasermax on a 10/22? Is this for point-shooting? Or are they just trying to sell two things at once? The new Turner's ad has one on sale.

Ruger started selling it a while ago, I'm guessing most of the people buying it don't give a damn about the laser, they just want the cheapest 10/22 they can get their hands on. However if you consider just how much tacticool laser, red dot, etc. crap people like bolting onto their rifles, I'm sure someone will want it for slaying zombies or whatever.
