    B&C Anschutz or Boyd's Tacticool?

I know there's quite a difference in price. Other than price, what are your thoughts? Gun is 10/22 with Kidd 20" match.

I have a Razor 10/22 with KIDD 20" tapered match barrel in a Tacticool. I like it. Got it real reasonable in a trade. Of course, the B&C is really nice if you have the dough!

I bought a unfinished Tacticool from midway (~$80). Took a belt sander to it and shaped it to fit my hand. Came out quite nice, low cost, and fun to shoot.

It depends on the look you're going for and the type of shooting you plan - the design of the stock should reflect the style of shooting. I'm rather fond of walnut and wanted to build a pure benchrest rifle so I went with a B&C Anschutz style thumbhole stock with a nice flat bottom fore end. The flat bottom works well with sandbags and mechanical rests. But I'm not sure they still make those in walnut and I haven't tried one of their synthetic stocks.

If you're going for the tacticool look go with Boyds. If you get a good Boyds stock you're in good shape but I haven't always had great luck with the receiver to inlet fit. One was great, while another was sloppy but they do include sling studs if you need them.

                B&C thumbhole Anschutz.

Don't forget to look at Revolution stocks as well.

All beautiful rifles there folks. Being that neither stock is in stock anywhere, I'll ponder it a bit more.

                    Thanks.
