    Heritage Rough Rider .22

Anybody have one? Thoughts, opinions on it?

I was thinking this would be a cheap backup packing pistol. And I want a revolver too

"Heritage Rough Rider .22", what is this?

They are a good entry level revolver. Ive had mine for over 30 years.

Its considerably lighter for packing, and shoots every bit as well as my Ruger. But was half the price. I like it and the Ruger equally well but for different reasons. DR

i just jailed one on thursday after debating for almost a year. finally said what the hell. i needed something to go with my bolt action 22 to slow me down on my 22 usage. i've never read anything bad about them, just that they're a fun plinker.

and they don't all come with the mag cylinder. just the more expensive model.
          I don't own any guns...they're dangerous.

I've had my RR for about 3 years, quality pistol and it shoots straight. I've lost count of how rounds I've put through it, but it's over 2000.

It may not be the prettiest pistol in the safe, but I consider it a good value.

I had one for about 2 years.. bought it to teach my fiance the fundamentals of shooting and because we both liked the look and feel of it. It was an instant winner, shot well, never malfunctioned, and we got tons of enjoyment out of it. As she progressed to bigger guns, we didn't shoot it as often so I sold it to fund a 1911-22. The rough rider was a solid gun, I was always really happy with it. The finish is a little fragile, but if you take care of it, it holds up well. And if you don't, well, looks don't affect function.

I bought one on a satin finish with fiber optic sights. Looks as good as the ruger. I havent tried the 22 mag yet. Partners up perfectly with me henry lever action. I always wanted to play a cowboy

Good value revolver, mine has the adjustable sights and is pretty accurate. The fixed sight models take some time to figure out the sight picture. If it comes with the .22WMR cylinder make sure you have ear protection (I use plugs and muffs) when you use it because that sucker is LOUD.

Pretty much always makes the range bag, never has any issues and all brands of 22 go bang in it. Lots of fun for not a lot of money.

Good gun. A great skunk dispatcher. Never need to oil it, because the skunks do that for me.

The rough rider is awesome. Accurate, uses .22lr and .22 long. During the ammo crunch .22 long is easier to find so it's goes to the range each time. No regrets. Can spray a bit from the cylinder depending on ammo so pay attention at open ranges for anyone standing in the line of the spray. Btw they don't all come with the mag cylinder.

                            great gun.
i have the one with 2 cylinders

you can shoot 22 short, long and LR with one and mag with the other.

22 short are still decent plinkers and squirrel rounds way easier to get too
                            magnum also

Op: As everyone has stated, the Heritage Rough Rider is a barrel of Fun. I've got one with 6.5" barrel. Too cool, makes me want to get a .357 wheel gun just to enjoy the whole Cowboy gun genre, even more. Danger Ranger is a great exponent for this gun.
