    Sig Mosquito Slide replacement

I think I'm going to try and create a replacement slide for my Mosquito and wondered what you all thought?

    No issues with mine.
But I really like the idea of billet Aluminum
instead of the pot metal it has now.

    And if you do?

Would you eliminate the slide safety and have
    compleat slide serations

Get a warranty replacement. Then 3D scan it and make it from a CNC.

The warranty replacement was going to end up costing me almost $250 once all the shipping was added in. I called Sig and they said I had to return the gun to them and they would then ship it back to me (all on my dime). I don't understand why they won't just ship me a replacement slide so that I could attach it myself but I am sure it is some regulation. I hope this project is successful and I'll keep you all informed of its progress here.

                Currently I'm waiting...

+1 on upgrading the sight mounts. Love the gun, don't like the sights.
So if there was a standard dovetail that would accept aftermarket sights, I would go for it just for that feature. As stated above, you can do away with the safety on the slide. Never use it. Hope you get this project off the ground.

                    I hope you took names...
there has to be another recourse to have them fix a known
                    defect.

I'd buy a S&W 41 and turn in the Mosquito for a Ralphs gift card.

                      .

Here is the last update for this thread and I am very happy to be ending it this way. I had a buddy look at the slide and we contemplated multiple ways of fixing this but I decided to go back to Sig and see if I could get the $155 price I thought it would cost. Sig took my information and I had every intention of paying them the $155 quote they sent me the 2nd time (first time I contacted them it was an insane price moving me to find a different solution...this thread). Long story short, Gun came back today ready to fire and the invoice said $0. I guess Sig really does stand by their reputation and their products, making me a very happy owner.
