    .22 Hollowpointer Modifier?

    Hello everyone,

Just surfing the interweb when I came across something that I had never seen before. Now I'm fairly new to shooting, as I only have about 2 years of experience.

Apparently, this thing makes a RN round into a hollowpoint

Has anyone seen or used this thing before? Thoughts? Does anyone here still use something like this?

That is made by a fellow named Drock. It has 5 or 6 different shaping rods depending on what you want to modify the bullet to. I have one that I use for making semi-wadcutters and a version of the Eley EPS bullet. It works well and I have had some success in modifying Federal AutoMatch ammo to a semi-wadcutter bullet which has increased the accuracy somewhat. I did not have as much success with modifying to an EPS bullet. Not much difference with that bullet.

One issue with this modifier/accurizer is that the large hollow point bullets in general will not cycle well in a semi-auto rifle or pistol. The edge of the hollow point tends to hang up going into the chamber. They tend to work ok in a bolt action rifle.

There are several type of these tools. Paco's, DRock, and Waltz die. Go over to RimfireCentral.com and you will find reviews on all of them. Here is a review on the Paco tool.

I've got at least 3 different versions of these tools.
            The most elaborate is Pacos.

I have another that uses a small drill bit.

I've used Paco Kelly's tool for years and yes, it does make a difference.
