    SP101-22

Just brought it home. As others have said, the effort to pull the trigger in DA and to cock it for SA is very great (to say the least!).
Folks point out that to insure ignition of rim fire rounds, you have to have a hard hammer strike, hence hard to pull trigger and tough to cock hammer.
But...I've fired other rim fire revolvers...none have trigger pulls as hard as that of my Ruger SP101.
Why is the pull so much harder than that found on LCR's; Single Sixes; and S&W 22's?
I know, there's really no answer to a question like this...it's just the way it is.
I appreciate any insight. Thanks for listening.

If you think the SP101-22 has a heavy trigger in DA, you should try a Taurus model 94!

I have an old single six and the hammer pull back is quite easy. However i also have a double action H&R 999 Sportsman and both the double and single action on it are pretty rough.

I think the rule is if a rimfire revolver is capable of double action, its going to be tougher than most.

First you are chopping up historic vintage rifles and sticking them in cheap and nasty looking plastic "dildo" stocks that look like some kind of futuristic sex toy that gay space aliens stick up each other's butts.

Mine has softened up with dry firing and time at the range. I put the Hogue mono grips on mine which also helped quite a bit. My hand did not fit the small original grips well and my finger felt awkward on the trigger, both problems were fixed with the new grips.

I did the same thing with mine, and my experience is the same. The Hogue rubber monogrip is terrific on this pistol and seemed to make it more comfortable firing the SP101 .22LR. I shot about 250 rounds through mine a couple of weeks ago and my trigger finger was not overly fatigued.

It is a fact that the DA trigger and SA hammer cock on the SP101 .22LR is pretty stiff. It does ease up a bit as the handgun breaks in. Others have experimented with lighter springs with mixed results. My SP101 .22LR is 100% reliable and very accurate shooting DA so I am leaving well enough alone.

Yes, I bought the only one listed and it fit just fine.
