.22lr? (San Diego)

You just have to be on your toes. Put in the time and effort. Check websites all day every day, even at twilight hours. Stalk your local Walmarts and Big5. Just depends how badly you want it. People line up at the crack of dawn because that's how much they want it. Or bite the bullet and pay the ridiculous prices. I haven't bought .22 since December, and have only gone shooting once since then. It's been tough not to scratch that itch, but I don't want to burn through my stockpile. Anyways, good luck and I hope you find some. -
Whats your definition of "insanely priced"? I find 555 bricks on CalGuns for around $50 all the time. That's a bit higher than normal but still affordable.
Yes there are some jack***s that are trying to sell a $30 box of rounds for over $100 in the for sale section. These guys get there stuff by waiting in line the day stores get there shipments, buy all they can and then mark them up to sell. You just have to get there earlier than them.Comment

That's what is funny, almost half of my stash is Aguila, made in Mexico but cannot be bought or used for the most part in Mexico, unless you are one of the lucky few who can own a gun legally. And the cartels don't bother with .22 that much.NRA Certified Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor, Shotgun Instructor and Range Safety Officer

All that you can do is be at Walmart at 6am every morning and hope they got a shipment. You have to beat the mom and pop and gun show dealers."Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else." --FREDERIC BASTIAT--

That's crazy. Just pay an employee at walmart 20.00 and he or she could text you when they come in. With walmart price and the 20.00 it's the same as people selling it online in ammo section.Comment

"helpme", how many 22lr do you need for a shooting adventure?Comment

The going price for a brick in Calguns is $ 60, maybe you can get it a little cheaper, if not see if you can get some at Walmart. That is life today!Comment

Too bad they don't have Gemco anymore. Used to be able to get cheap ammo there. Those were the days.Comment

wow; since i haven't been shooting in over a year i wasn't aware of .22 ammo shortages...remington GB's bulk pack @ $80 is sick; those are the worst...i threw half a pack in the pacific because they were so crappy LOL...all the usual online sources that i have bought ammo from are all out of stock, which is pretty freaky as we're talking about .22 ammo...
because of that scare a few years ago when they almost passed a bill limiting ammo purchases here, i bought a few cases of Blazer, and i haven't been shooting since...can't say that i lucked out cause i have .22 ammo now; who could have predicted, but i guess i am...Comment
