    Marlin XT 22

Shooting my new 22 lr Marlin for the second time today. We had a few issues feeding from the magazine. This is a bolt so didn't think this would happen. My daughter actually pushed a round with the casing and everything into the barrel when a second round fed from the stock 7 round magazine. And it happened a few times to me too. Though I felt something go wrong and never jammed it in. But had several times that a second round was chambering. Usually on the last or second to last shot from the magazine.
Is this a magazine issue? Lousy ammo? (It also happened with CCI) and Golden Bullets.
Cleaning issue? I clean after every time at the range. The bolt is still a little stiff so have to make sure motions.
    Thanks

I also just got my xt-22. On my first outing, I had a couple of FTE and one exactly like your symptom. The next day, I went back to the range and zero failures. Maybe it just needs breaking in.

Absolutely. I'd be in the range a.long time if I didn't look at time.

I know this is an older thread, just wondered if any of the problems you guys had were taken care of. I bought one today, 11 day wait. I got a bolt action because I have a few thousand rounds of hollow point that my remington 597doesn't like. I hope the new one does ok. Does anyone sell 10 rounders for the xt?

XT-22 takes the same magazines as the 795, if you can find those.

I just took mine out of jail last weekend and put 300 rounds through her. AE jacketed hollow points, CCI Blazer, and Federal Automatch all functioned flawlessly in it. I only used the stock 7 round magazine; I own a 795 as well, but didn't try those magazines. I will the next time out.

In any case, I will report back if I have any trouble. I had a great time shooting it - very accurate and fun to shoot - so I will be putting many thousands of rounds through it.

I have an XT-22 that I mounted a scope to. It is very accurate and a lot of fun to shoot, at least to the 100yds i used it for. The 795 nickel 10 round magazines do work in it. I haven't had any regular issues with FTE. I was using some Blazer ammo that felt very dirty and after putting around 100 rounds down range I had some FTE. I think this was more of an issue of the dirt and heat combined holding the casing in so it got pulled out of the bolt clip. This only happens when I cycle really fast. If i go slow I haven't had any issues.

Great gun to shoot with! Have fun!!!
