    Just Jailed a 15-22

Stopped by Turner's (Reseda) after work today. To my surprise they actually had some base model (non-moe) S&W 15-22s in stock. I was actually going to just place an order and wait indefinitely for one, but ended up starting my 10 days on the spot! The price was good too - $459. They had at least five in stock when the guy brought them up on the computer. Had my eye on one of these for along time, but didn't think I was ever going to find one once the panic buying started. I'm a happy boy.

It seems like a lot of the panic buying of firearms has passed. Bad thing is, now you have a lot more people that have firearms but no ammo. So it'll take quite a while for the ammo side to settle down. Hopefully by this time next year this will have all been a bad memory.

Congrats! The 15-22 is really addicting to plink with. I would look into replacing the stock grip with the Magpul one, and perhaps the Magpul pistol grip as well, if that's your thing. I wouldn't go for the fold down sights unless you plan to put a scope on, because the stock iron sights are more than adequate.

Was that the one in their flyer with the match grade barrel?

Lucky guy. I ordered one on 1/29/13 from Turners Pasadena. Kept checking and none in the warehouse until 3/28. I finally picked it up last week. Same price.

I got mine out of jail last week. I've already started window shopping for new parts for it. Going to change the stock, grip, sights, front handguard, trigger, safety and add a barrel shroud. Got lucky and got 5 extra mags for it at the same time.

Yeah the mp15-22 is an animal. I forget how many thousands of rounds put threw the gun. I have not taken it shooting in a little while because of the .22 shortage. The only modification I have to to the stock version is to add a tapco foward vertical grip which has helped my accuracy while shooting standing up.

Keep an eye out on MidwayUSA. They've been having 10 round magazines pop up lately.
