    big5 reshelving tacticool 22's

was in my local big5 (santa clarita) last night and noticed they had on display 8 tacticool 22's: S&W M4's, mossberg tactical, a couple of the HK 22's, etc. guy told me they had them in back for a while but were told they can now put them out.

don't know if this is a sign of anything or not. also, a couple of weeks ago their racks were almost barren except for a few shotguns. now they are full. in fact, they had several howa bolt rifles, the mag fed ones, on display.

ammo on shelves was sparse however.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

Hard to make money if you have stock your not willing to sell it. I would think Big-5 buys good sized lots of rifles so the cost of storing them is eating in to the profits.

Same thing at my Big 5. I was looking at the Savage Hunter 111XP, but Big 5 only orders the 7mm or .30-06 :\

even though their prices are higher than others, it's not like they make alot of money on them and they aren't selling tons of them. besides, it isn't like they aren't going to sit there for very long anyways. the guy said it was a corporate decision, about appearances and all because of the shootings.

I worked for big5 over 20 years ago. I'm still surprised given all that has gone on in kalifornia that they still sell guns and ammo. in fact, when I worked there they wouldn't sell milsurps due to liability and all that. it surprised me when I saw a number of years ago they were offering them. very out of character for them. they only wanted big name manufacturers and wouldn't even go so far as to special order anything. remember, they used to sell handguns then dropped those.

I'll bet that once the whole long gun registration thing starts they'll drop them altogether. their bread and butter guns for many years were cheap marlin 22's and mossberg shotguns. I worked in stores in norcal and we'd go through hundreds of 22's before we ever sold a bolt '06 or anything.

Maybe they did not put them out because there is no ammo for the 22lr at the moment. Hard to buy a gun with no ammo or extra mags that are out of stock. About three weeks ago was at the Big5 in Burbank and the manager said that they got in about a hundred mosins at the main warehouse and did not know how they were to be divided up.

They did it specifically because of Sandy Hook. There was no shortage of ammo or magazines until proposed laws came out after Sandy Hook, either. The manager at my store said [Big 5] isn't carrying .223/5.56 ARs anymore though...?
