    Benchrest Custom 10/22 Scope recommendation

Hi guys. Looking to upgrade from my Mueller APV scope to something nicer. I have a custom 10/22 setup used for benchrest shooting and am looking for a nicer scope. Currently considering a Leupold VX-2 model, just not sure which one. Primarily shooting at 50 yards, but shorter or longer distances are ok. Have a budget of about $400 for a new scope. Any recommendations?

Forgot to mention Im looking for something adjustable. Considering either the Leupold VX2 4-12x40 or the 6-18x40.

        Paperchase,

Your post is very confusing. A Ruger 10/22 and variable scope for bench rest?
Isn't that like, "almost pregnant"? Pop over to RimFireCentral and go to the
bench rest section. Some great guys there who can help guide you.

Buy a bolt action rifle and then a scope that costs twice as much as the gun.
That's what you will hear. You can start off with less and work your way up,
however. But the 10/22 doesn't cut it in this arena. Silhouette shooting
or some other competition maybe ... but not bench ... unless it's just for
your own fun/competing against yourself target work.

I am not an attorney, but sure, go ahead.

I apologize for the confusion. I only shoot my 10/22 from a benchrested position off of a bipod, so I guess it is technically not consider benchrest shooting. My 10/22 has a KIDD 20" Bull Barrel that is just too heavy to shoot in a standing position. I am on RFC and as you probably know, most people there recommend the Mueller APV 4.5-14x40 scope, which is what I currently have on my 10/22. I have the funds to upgrade to a nicer scope now and wanted some opinions on what I should consider.

I have since decided on either the Nikon Monarch or a Leupold VX-3.
