Need Help With scope ring height

Recently i purchased a Leopard stock for my Savage MK2, after shooting it for the first time i found that the with the cheek rest on the Leopard stock my scope rings were too low and it was making it challenging to see properly through the scope. even with the cheek rest all the way down .

My question is what height rings should i order. currently i have low rise rings on there. i dont know whether to get medium, high or extra high.

im leaning towards high but any input would be greatly appreciated

I think you would do best to get a friend, line up your cheek for the weld that you desire and then have the friend take a measurement from the top of the butt stock to your eye. Then measure the distance between the top of the butt stock and the center of the scope. Subtract second from first and that will be the distance that you need to raise the scope.

Be aware that as you raise the scope you will loose some elevation adjustment (ie same as lowering the muzzle so now you must crank in more elevation). Be careful that you don't run out of elevation adjustment. I have seen scopes mounted so high on a .22lr that they could not be zeroed beyond 75yds and having the elevation adjustment topped out can cause issues with some scopes.

Use modeling clay to set it at the correct height for you. Then measure from the bottom of the tube to the top of the rail. This is a common measurement used by ring makers.

That video should be seen by everyone new to scopes or even old guys like me.I watched it a few years back and gained a few things.
Just a observation of your Savage, but it seems the scope looks high enough now.Is it your cheek weld maybe.Just wondering.
I looked at a new Savage with a pistol grip and fluted barrel yesterday in a gunshop. It looked like it would need high or extra high rings to use it.
