    Rem sub-sonic hp's, wow!

I recently purchased some of these rounds from Midway at around 7 cents/rd just because they were fairly priced. I had low expectations for performance being sub-sonic, but wow was I wrong. These things shot every bit as accurate through my 10/22 as the mini mags I usually use. I am very impressed and will buy these again. Have any of you found these to be great as well?

Thank you Midway for not being a-holes who jack up your prices to un-holy levels. (cough...CTD...cough)

Most shooters will notice sub-sonic ammo to be more accurate at ranges beyond 50 yds. As a bullet transitions from super-sonic to sub-sonic it is subject to turbulence that can disrupt the bullet's stability. Most .22 ammo in the ~1250 fps range go through this transition very near the 50 yard line. Sub-sonic ammo doesn't have to deal with the transition, so is inherently more accurate. The trade-off is more bullet drop at extended range as the bullet runs out of steam.

Do you have trouble cycling these rounds through a semiauto?

I shot 150 rounds and only had 1 FTF. Not bad at all.

I saw the same deal and ordered some. I think they'll be here tomorrow.

wish I coulda ordered more though. midway is limiting you to one box. which is fair I guess. I'm kind of excited to shoot them.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

Though I've never tried the Remington Sub-Sonics, I've shot hundreds of CCI Standard Velocity through my Marlin semi-autos without a hitch. The CCI's are spec'd nearly the same as the Remington's (1070 vs. 1050 fps). I can't imagine that you'd have any problems with them in any semi. Stay away from the CCI Quiet (710 fps) as CCI warns -
These cartridges may be used in semi-automatic firearms, however manual cycling of the action may be required.

Should be no surprise, competition benchrest shooters only shoot sub-sonic ammo. Known the world over to be more accurate than any High Velocity .22lr ammo.

Remington .22LRHPs are the Gold Standard for your buddies in NV and AZ who can legally have cans on their .22s. At least that is what I'm told by the Americans on the 'Free' side.
