So get this...I just picked up a Marlin 700, .22LR brand new still in the box never fired for $50!!! I know it was made for Big 5 back in the day and it really is the same as a Marlin Model 70. My problem is I want to throw a 4x32 scope on it but can't find any info on what rings or how to do it. So if there are any other model 70 guys that may know the answer then how about sharing that info please.

What I would say is that if it has the dovetail rail on the top like the model 60, 795 and 70pss does, then you use standard rimfire dovetail rings. I know Wal-Mart often sells exactly what you are looking for and they include rings with some of their offerings. Now that doesn't mean I would use the scope you are looking to, but I think that is the answer you are looking for. Seems like you got a heck of a deal. I have several Marlins but no 70. I have a 795 and a 60. Both have the dovetail rail. -
Everything you could ever want to know (including what rings to buy) can be found in the Marlin 795 MEGATHREAD Part Deuce
As you said the 700 is just the Big5 special 70 and the 70 is the dad to the 795.
50 bucks? Wow, Score!Comment
