Question:11mm vs 3/8 scope rings

Is it really going to matter if I use a 3/8" ringmount instead of what the gun calls for in a 11mm ringmount?
My chart shows the 11mm being just a little larger than 3/8".As in the scope may be slightly off center.What is your experience.
The gun in question is a CZ 512 semi auto in 22 mag.I want to use it in some 200yard matches my local club is going to start.My other options are a 10-22 Mag with a Lilja barrel and Volq lower,or a 77-22 mag.
And yes I like 22 mag.Thank you for your replies ahead of time.

I shoot an Anschutz sporter and for many years I used a 3/8" mount. I worked fine, but looking at it closely, it was a poor fit. Once 11mm mounts became available, I switched.

11mm rings use a 60 degree dovetail and are measured at the top. 3/8th rings use a 45 degree dovetail and are measured at the bottom. Generally it is the angle difference that causes problems not the width grip range.
Look at BKL rings and mounts.

I have a bunch of CZ rimfires, mostly with the 11 mm groove. I use 3/8" on nearly all of them and have no issue. Holds fast, sits flat and looks fine.

There are "11mm to 3/8" conversion rails aout there, although look a bit clunky and add height.

OP, may I suggest an alternative. Get yourself a 25 MOA rail, precisely designed to slide over your CZ's grooved receiver. Here it is: http://www.diproductsinc.com/Detail....26647&CAT=3600

Then you can use whatever Weaver or Picatinny type rings you like. Sure, this base adds a bit of height, but combined with the excellent Burris Signature Zee rings (their "medium"), the clearance is just about perfect with a 44mm objective scope.

I just put a scope on a CZ455 last night using the BKL rings. They work perfectly and will fit either an 11mm or 3/8" dovetail. They manufacture them with a couple of screw holes that let you expand the dovetail if you need the wider mount.

I goofed and ordered two sets of the standard height rings in black matte. PM if you would like the extra pair of new-in-box BKL-251 for a reasonable price. They aren't expensive enough to bother trying to return them.

Thats a nice rail Dip has.I am just afraid of losing the cheek weld without a riser being used.
My 20moa mounts on my long range guns get awful high and I end up with strap on cheekrests.
I am running a high set of rings with a Leupold VX1 4-12 for the time being.It is a little high.I have to say this CZ512 is a great rifle and will be better when I get the trigger tuned up and the scope the perfect height.The trigger really blows compared to what I am used to.This thing is a ground squirrel knockerdowner though.The way I hunt them,a semi auto is a pleasure to use.It is almost as light as my Ruger 77-22mag,and considerably lighter than my 10-22mag with the Lilja barrel and laminated stock.
