Well after spending hours and hours I got it completed. After getting all the extras off the stock I took some stripper to it to the get all to old stain off and sanded it too sweet perfection. I ended up getting eight coats of true oil on her then I buffed her to a shine. I then took all the metal parts and striped all the black paint off and then put in hours behind the buffing wheel.
I am really happy with the way it turned out . I think all it needs now is a silver scope and silver rings.
The only issue I still have left to figure out is the butt plate because its made out of plastic.
Enjoy

Failing finding a 60's buttplate, you might be able to fashion one from .090 aluminum sheet. If you have basic metal working skills it would be fairly easy to do. Aluminum is easy to work with and a hacksaw, file and soft jaw vise would be all you need. Take the buffing wheel to it after you are done fabbing, and voila...
