I've had it happen to me so I'm going to say normal. Don't think much qc goes into .22 production IMO

The last 525 blue box I shot through my mk2 had 2 ftf with strike marks. Ymmv.
I'd rather have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Might be the gun. Try a different brand of ammo. What kind of gun do you have?

A couple of dozen is too many, try different ammo, if the same thing happens, then it's time to look at your gun.

I had probably 10-15 ftf's and one blown case using winchester 333/555 bulk. Using different guns so pretty sure it was ammo. Wouldn't buy it again if I could find it.

I would consider 1 or 2 to be normal.More indicates problem either with ammo or gun/ammo combination.

Some.22s and certain ammo don't work.No rhyme or reason to it.

For whatever it's worth I bought two Fed 550ct a few years ago and had several (over 50) duds in each box. I contacted Fed with the "lot numbers" and they sent me two new boxes and asked me to discard the bad boxes.
It seems that if you paid for a specific number you should be able to shoot that number...especially with the current usery we now experience.
You might try another gun and if the condition continues I'd contact Federal.

If it was Remington rimfire that would be perfecty normal. With any other manufacturer it means you got a bad batch.

I could not agree with you more. Federal - using my old Single Six (which packs a hefty strike on primer) - was 1 out of 100 or less.

Dang for Remington, 5-10 per 100 were no fires.

Most of the above were fired after rotating and DID fire.

                          .

Theres always a higher probability that you get duds when you're shooting bulk stuff
