Tactical Solutions' AR-22 M4 Upper with Bushnell TRS 25

This is a range review of my new to me Tactical Solutions AR 22 M4 dedicated upper and new Bushnell TRS 25. The rage sessions took place at an indoor range with the targets at approximately 20 yards. The targets shown are 5 shot groups and were shot in a standing position while using the divider for support. The Bushnell TRS 25 brightness level was set to 1. At that level it was bright enough for indoor use and kept the red dot small enough for precision shooting.

In my first range session I sighted in the TRS 25 and shot Federal Bulk ammo with good results (no rear sight at this point). My lower was a newly built AR-15 PSA lower with PSA MOE built kit. The kit included a MOE stock, grip and trigger guard. It also included a PSA lower parts kit with standard trigger. I was using an older version of the Black Dog ten round magazine during this range session with no issues. I shot a total of 125 rounds with 3 FTF. The FTF seemed to occur when I held the magazine with my support hand.

In my second range session I shot Federal AutoMatch and Winchester 333 bulk ammo (with the same set up as the first session).

At my third range session I added a Magpul rear sight and replaced the no name riser I had with a Leapers UTG Black Quick Release Double Picatinny Rail 3 Slot Angle Mount (MAD0340). I also switched out the PSA lower with my old CMMG lower to check compatibility with the Tac Sol upper. I did not take pictures but the 5 shot groups were similar to the groups I had from the previous two sessions. The quick release UTG raiser worked well with the TRS 25 and held zero.

The Tac Sol dedicated upper performed well and is fairly precise at 20 yards. The TRS 25 held zero and assisted with quick target acquisition. In addition, the UTG riser was inexpensive and provided a solid base for the TRS 25. Both the older version of the Black Dog magazine and the newer Black Dog X Form magazine worked great and are well made. Overall I'm very happy with how this dedicated AR-22 performed. This gun will serve as a trainer and inexpensive alternative to my AR-15.

Always wanted to try a TAC SOL.
          U.S. made and good CS.

At this point, if it's not U.S. machined and built, I have no interest in it.

TACCOM and Nordic/DPMS are also U.S. machined and built.

Buy American made and support OUR dollars.
