I saw one a few weeks ago at my local dealer and that is one sweet gun.
I really wanted to buy it but need a gun safe more than another gun right now.

Your son will enjoy that a lot.

Order the Wolff springs now, and you'll have them in hand when you take the Bearcat home.
My 8yo loves his. Even more now that he can cock it!

Bought one a few years ago off a buddy for $200. One of the best buys I have made in firearms. I never even considered changing out the springs, I'll look into that. Thanks for the tip!!

Love mine. After buying them for my kids, I finally treated myself to one, it has Wolff springs and stainless steel ejector housing.

Good choice, I learned to shoot on an old model bearcat, that stainless one looks great, just may have convinced me to buy a new one instead of looking for an old one.

                    Why swap out the springs?

they were super hard to find. everyone is out and the wait is forever. so I went to gunbroker. yeah, when you add shipping and dealer stuff, it ain't cheap. but I really wanted him to have this.

funny thing is that I kinda decided on the bearcat sight unseen. I used to own a super blackhawk (only gun I've ever sold, btw) and I'd shot single sixes in the past and was leaning that way. I've always like that line. but after reading up on the bearcat, hitting up youtube, etc., decided that was it.

when I held it at the dealer, I knew it was the right call.

as for the springs, will have to see. from what I played with it, I think stock springs will work. guess I'll have to shoot it alot and find out

The Bearcat was the first .22 pistol that I owned ("thanks Dad"). In 1968 they sold new for $38.00. A neat little pistol for our camping trips. However, the brass trigger guard screws (yes, they had a brass trigger guard in those days) and the ejector house screw would both shoot loose in less than 50 rounds. Years later while in college I swapped it straight across for an early S&W Model 27. Now THAT's one that I would not part with.

Because right now I only own 3 guns, lots to buy and the order in which I buy them changes constantly. I do really like the old models with the brass trigger guards though.

Nice holster - who made it?

Any other thoughts from you guys on holsters for bearcats? Gunblast has a couple neat ones on their site.

This is a custom suede lined holster I bought on e-bay. Unfortunately, I do not remember who made it. As long as you have patience, you can find western style, Bearcat holsters there, nice ones show up on e-bay on semi-regular bases.

I was looking at tooled one from this place http://www.leathercreekholsters.com/..._Holsters.html , but I don't know anything about its quality or service beyond what is on the web-site.
