    Savage MK2 FSS

I bought this rifle on a whim. Actually went to buy an SR22, which was just purchased by the guy in front of me. They had just received the Savage MK2 in both 22LR and 17HMR. I wanted the HMR but I already had thousands of rounds of 22LR on the ready.

Took it home (after wait). Put a Simmons 3-9x40 on it. Bore sighted. Disassembled. Waited.

Finally took it to the range and waited last to shoot it. What a pleasant surprise. The scope only need a minor adjustment and suddenly I was a crack shot.

What a fun gun to shoot. The guys I went with wanted to try it and all agreed it was a blast. Both agreed it was the best 22 they'd shot. They had a Ruger and Marlin with them.

I just wanted to share my experience with my first Savage. I'd give it five stars if I thought anyone cared.

I was kind of hoping someone else would chime in who's bought a similar model. I know they're not as popular as the 10/22 but there must be someone else who loves this thing?

OK, I'll chime in. I have two MK II's-one for me, one for son. When you get a good one, they are really good....... These were done at 75 yds and is typical of their consistenty with good ammo. Wolf Match target seems to work best

I would have agree with ya both, the Mark II's are great guns. I picked one up for one of my boys a year ago and it's a great shooter. I actually just ordered a new Boyd wood stock for it. The Savage was such a good gun that it made me lean toward the Savage for my .308 bolt gun. They are fun to shoot...

            Well find out how
