    Reasonably priced scope

I have a Marlin xt 22tr on the way. Can anyone recommend a decent scope set up that won't break the bank? Thanx Calgunners

        +1

Probably the best quality/lowish priced (+/- $100) scopes out there.

My Simmons 22MAG scope works. My UTG 5th Gen scope works. My Bushnell Rimfire scope works. All were between $40 and $80. The UTG is currently on my XT-22R.

If I went to the $100-$200 range, I'd be looking at some of these:
          Mueller Optics 4.5-14x40 AO - $130
          Nikon Prostaff Rimfire 3-9x40 - $170
          Vortex Crossfire II 6-18x44 AO - $210
          Vortex Diamondback Rimfire 2-7x35 - $179

I have several of the Millett scopes that work well for me.
They stay zeroed and work when I need them to.

Nitrex. Google them (or rimfire central) now, thank me later...

I have a Nikon Rimfire BDC & it's been great. I do like it, but I'd recommend you look at both the Mueller & Nikon. My scope was about 140 otd & I got a deal, Turners lists them for 179+ Muellers are well liked, my next build will likely have a Mueller 4x16x40.

Get something with adjustable objective. All the rimfire scopes are very similar.

I have several rimfires and they are all sporting AO version scopes.

It really depends on what you plan on doing with your new rifle. For general plinking and hunting I use a Barska 3-9x32 Plinker. It's under $50, and for me it's worked out great on my Glenfield Model 25. For precision target shooting you might want something that can zoom in a bit more, but for field use I'd go with a 3-9x32 scope.

Just plinking. I like the price of yours for sure. You don't think AO is a necessary feature?

I was wondering what price range you were in. Weaver makes some good choices like the 2-7 power. I like my Redfield Revolution 2-7. I also have several of the Simmons 22 MAG 3-9's that work good. BSA makes a reasonable 4-14 power. So a little of this depends on your budget. I know guys who wouldn't want anything less than Leupold, but they know quality and want every rifle to be dependable. After all, you can plink all you want, but if you need to defend yourself or you need to feed your family, then why would you risk inexpensive optics that might break? In a dire situation if you have a scope mounted and it does not zero or otherwise breaks etc, then you have a useless rifle.
