    Impulse buy tonight.

I went out to shoot the rimfire match. After i finished I walked past the rifle rack and see this old girl sitting on the back row. JC Higgins marked 22CAL.
I probably over paid for it at 110.00 plus DROS, but they did let me test fire it and it ran fine for what it is.
I think this will be fun to find some decent sights for it and use it as my irons shooter for the rimfire matches. I noticed two tapped holes on the left side of the receiver and I "think" I can use those to mount a peep sight?
Anyway, impulse buys get me every time

With the panic, I buy things for weapons I don't even own.

No reason for me to buy .38/357 speed loaders. But I did LOL

    Looks like you did good.

Discount gun mart on Morena blvd. here in San Diego. They had two, but the one I didn't buy looks like the bbl has seen better days. I could barley make out the rifling grooves.

Check Gun parts corp or Brownells, you can probably find some lyman sites that fit.

looks like maybe an old savage/stevens/springfield. 84/86 series. fun little guns. You might could fit a Lyman 57ts peep to the rear holes. Might have to relieve the stock a bit to get it to fit up properly.

Looks like it has a slot cut into the barrel for a buckhorn sight already. Why don't you upgrade to a Skinner peep sight in the same slot? The "barrel mount" model will fit most anything. That is bound to work better than anything side mounted, even if you find one made for this exact model.

Looks a lot like my Stevens/Savage that I love so dearly. I'd like to acquire a few more C&R .22s before years end.
