Why No Sticky on SB 374 semi auto ban?

This bill bans the sale of ALL semi-automatic rifles that don't have a fixed magazine, or have a fixed mag capable of accepting over 10 rounds.

I've read this bill, I don't see anywhere it even says the word "ban". Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Emailed my reps etc, all of them told me that they think there should be a ban even with rimfire ... what else we can do...

Same here through the Ruger link someone posted here a couple weeks ago. The auto-replies I got were basically, "I don't care what you think, have a good day." Emailing/mailing reps like Boxer, Lee and Feinstein about protecting our 2A rights could possibly be the biggest waste of time ever. You think they would ever change their views? Are there any California reps with balls willing to protect our 2A rights?

What it does is make all of them illegal for future purchase after the end date, effectively banning them all. While it doesn't use the word ban specifically, a ban is the end result.

The bill redefines what an "assault weapon" is.

The redefinition would classify any centerfire or rimfire semi-auto rifle that does not use a fixed magazine to be an "assault weapon".
Fixed magazine = must disassemble the firearm in order to remove the magazine. If the magazine can be removed without disassemblng the firearm, then it is not a fixed magazine and considered a detachable magazine.

The bill also allows people who owned affected firearms prior to 07-01-2014 to register them as assault weapons.

Possession of an unregistered assault weapon, after the registration time period is over, is a felony.

Therefore...
It will "ban" the possession of rimfire & centerfire semi-auto rifles that use detachable magazines on 07-01-2014 and exempts those firearms that have been registered as assault weapons.

I don't think just writing emails is going to stop the Dem Super Majority. People need to lose their timidity and be willing to show up at rallies to make the bill sponsors realize we are not going to shut up.
