Wifes first gun! A Purple 10/22

Bought the wife a 10/22 for Appleseed. And let her customize it to her liking.
She removed and put on the new barrel etc her self and the end result is an ultra light 10/22 with no recoil. And I may or may not use it for varmints.

-Boyds Royal / purple stock
-Magnum research Carbon utlra light 16" bull barrel with compensater
-Not here yet but have a BSA 2-7x Sweet 22 scope on the way.

Still needs
-Trigger work done
-Need a sling

You can use anything you want at an Appleseed. Some things are more strongly encouraged than others (i.e. you should be using a sling and shouldn't be using a bipod otherwise you're missing the point). The 400 yard targets are itsy bitsy and lots of us over-40 types benefit from a scope. I used irons for mine but sometimes it was a bit of an act of faith as to what I was shooting at.

Very nice! Just a suggestion I'd add a Tactical Solutions magazine release (black or purple) and do a 2-2.5lb trigger job with either a VQ hammer or Kidd kit.

Great idea on the purple mag release! Also which Kidd kit or VQ Hammer do you recommend? Also is it just a drop in or do I need to do any extra polishing etc?
