Remington 510 scope mount ?

I have 1953 plinker but I want optics because I don't see as well as I used to . The barrel has no dove tails . Any ideas

Only option would be for a gunsmith to drill and tap the receiver for a scope mount. Really depends on how thick the receiver metal is if this can be done or not. This is really not a DIY project unless you have the machinery to do it. My brother tried this with a Winchester 69 and gunsmith said metal was too thin/old so he wouldn't attempt it.

Will it take a peep rear sight like the old Redfield or Lyman? An adjustable peep rear and globe front makes for an excellent set of sights, much better than the old "V" rear and blade front.
