i like the marlin 60 for semi tube fun but the nylon 66 is cool you just take a handfull of 22s and they drop down the butt drain somehow always going in head first

i had one that would double feed the first one so in order to shoot it i loaded one in the chamber then loaded the tube

its the only gun i've ever seen that can operate without its receiver

i have a brown one and love it - its deadly accurate with cci mini mags price i paid was 130 but that was three years ago (also had some scratches on stock but bore was good). as others said black & green are more collectible, browns more available. use a bore light and see how it is before you buy. no one wants rust do they?!?!
      I mainly shoot .22lr, 9mm,45 acp, 357 & 38, 12G, 7.62x39, .308, .223/556, 7.62x54r, 300 win mag, 8x57

I have to agree. Great little rifles that are extremely reliable. I have had a Apache Black for years and have never had any issues with the gun. My best friend had a Nylon lever gun, I believe it was a Model 76. We use to shoot bricks of .22 out of these guns after school in an old orchard near our houses.

I just bought a Mohawk Brown in November in great condition for my daughter. I paid $200 for it and it's in 98% condition.
She loves shooting it as does my youngest daughter and wife.

If you can find one at a reasonable price I would buy it.

First rifle I ever shot, 1966, I think one of my brothers own it, he got it from Dad. Had to shoot it left handed because I have 20-100 in my right eye. Didn't like the powder residue getting ejected into my face and eyes. No shooting glasses back then.

Embrace the Nylon-ness These are collectible rifles as you've seen from the posts above.

I feel the same way. Really surprised how collectible they've become. Bought my 66 back in 1977 thought it was BB gun that Remington just upgraded to .22. I've always enjoyed shooting it.

They are excellent shooting guns we have one for the kids who are now 35 yrs old. What I liked was the mag was in the butt no waveing their hands in front of the bore. A good gun for any collection .

I still have 2 from 1962, a mdl 66, and a mdl 76, both Mojave brn. They only made the 76 lever 62-64. Both are sweethearts. Neither came with serial number. (too old) Fun guns for $49.95!

Yeah, it seems no matter which guns I take to the range, the little 66 gets shot the most! I know there is a shortage of 22 ammo out there, but I bought a bunch spead over the years and now have no issues with ammo supply...

OK, so Remington made a lever and an auto. Did they make a nylon pump or bolt action in the same sort of style back then?
