I inherited this rifle, I belive they are back from the 40's or 50's. I disassembled it, cleaned it and reassembled it (which was a NIGHTMARE). I believe I have everything where it is supposed to be, everything seems to work except. when feeding rounds from the tube magazine. The rounds (at least the dummy ones I'm checking it with) will not feed properly unless I move the bolt forward slowly, and sometimes I will have to back it off and try again to shimmy the round into the chamber. If all else fails I can just use it like a single shot rifle, everything seems to work great once a round is chambered. Anyone have experience with these and have any suggestions? Thanks. I hear these things are super accurate rifles.

Feeding issues with Remington 512

I would be tempted to take it to a safe area and try it with live ammo. I know the dummy rounds are a lot lighter and maybe can not keep up with the speed you are feeding the round with the bolt? I'm just guessing here, good luck."Every day I get up and look through the Forbes list of the richest people in America. If I'm not on there, I go to work." -
They're extremely accurate and fun once you get them dialed in and feeding properly. Mine is kind of finicky on feeding and every now and then you'll get a round that won't line up with the chamber properly. For some reason I want to say that it's lead rounds (as opposed to copper) that seem to have slightly more of an issue - but I've never been looking out for it to confirm that.
I tend to agree with Fredo, seeing as how it's slightly finicky to begin with and you are using undersized dummy rounds, which may be magnifying the issue.I know I'm gonna get got, but I'm going to get mine more than I get got though.Originally posted by Enfield47I'm rooting for the allied team, I think we won last time but I can't remember. I just remember it was a lot of fun.
