    STG-44 is here/PICS

Got this home today from Turners.I paid $559,10 days ago, one in the store
today was $599(in Oxnard).Wood box packed in a cardboard sleeve,

open wood crate, all the stuff is there,

    Next pic

    LOA is under 36"

EXTRA MAGS---Note the 2 ROUNDERS Designation!!! (Difi gun control of the future)

Note the serial numbers in 3 places!!!

Rifle is all wood and metal except for the plastic mag. This thing has a REAL
hold open on the last round, and working bolt release, unlike some 22s when you pull the mag the bolt slams home--not here. Really like the dark wood as opposed to blond.Rifle also has a functional dust COVER!!! Pete

Footnotes: It appears these shoot EXTREMELY LOW out of the box. Also reports indicate use only HI-VEL ammo not standard velocity. I dont like cranking sights way up to obtain
a good zero@25 yds. I will start with Fed Hi Velocity --print on paper @25 with the rear sight at it's lowest position and then CAREFULLY file down the FS until it zeros,
this should allow just a little movement up on the rear ladder to be on @50yds. I will cover this in more detail when I get to the range which could be at least a week.

Further down there are some close-ups of the MAG.

      I love it!

I am not a fan of tactical type rifles but that is one nice looking rifle. Lets us know how she shoots (accuracy, etc..) Not a bad price as there is little plastic unlike many others. Looks like one of the rifles in "Medal of Honor".

I got one question, does it look like the rifle has a place for a scope mount?

In Canada, a magazine designed for a rimfire rifle only is not restricted. However, a magazine labelled to fit both a rimfire rifle and a rimfire pistol are limited to 10 rounds.
I was in Calgary last year and thought I would try to find some Ruger BX-25 rebuild kits. No such luck because Ruger states the magazine will fit the 10/22 rifle and the Charger pistol so it is not available in Canada. The Butler Creek Steel Lips 25 round magazine was readily available because it only said it fit the 10/22 rifle. Even though a BC mag will fit a Charger pistol, because it wasn't labelled as such, it was legal to sell. Totally makes no sense but then again, neither do the restrictions in CA.

Supposedly HK mounts will work although the scope height will be less than optimal.

I bought two spare mags for my STG from ATI's website. Since the crate only holds ONE mag, I modified the crate using one of the slates of wood from the front of the crate. They just used drywall screws to hold the crate together and nothing is glued. Now I can put all three mags in that space.

You can get an idea what I did here:

I film guns in slow motion.

I did some research and I think I can go with UTG's mount.

This rifle should be good for somebody like me who wants a historical piece without the pain (the lack of parts and service) of a historical piece. Now I just need some shot 10 round mags for bench shooting.

To my knowledge there are no SHORTER mags. Looking at the mags
construction and simple take down(small torx head screws) I would bet
you could modify(cut one down). It also, looks VERY easy to modify
for other purposes(such as making 5 rounders for hunting
dangerous game). NOTE: The mags in BOXES in the above pics
                              were NOT from Turner's!!! Pete
