    22 bolt action rifle?

I have been looking around at local gun shops in orange county (turners, fowlers, and big 5) none of which seem to have any bolt action 22s in stock. Anyone know a good place to look for them? I am looking at savage mark ii, or the mossberg 802. any info is greatly appreciated

Nope I ordered a CZ ultralux in June of last year. I still haven't got it. Magical pixy's have whispered in my ear. April April April. I will belive when I see it. Fowlers gun room had some over the holidays. A real sweet Sako that I was drooling over so try them. There in orange.

Try smaller mom and pop shops in LA/OC/IE. They might not have as much business as better-known shops.

I have been looking at this rifle and like it. Same issue though, no shops seem to carry it, or at least have it in stock. Anyone know any shops that have it in orange county?

I bought a CZ 452 Scout from Turners two months ago. I walked in with the intention of buying either a Marlin XT-22 or a Savage MkII, but the only bolt 22s they stocked were CZs (American and Scout) or single shot beginner's rifles like the Cricket.

At the time Bud's had a large selection of both Marlin XT-22s and Savage MkII, I just didn't feel like paying the extra transfer fees. Overall I'm very pleased with the Scout. I'm not a large guy so the short length of pull doesn't bother me. I might add a 1" rubber butt plate someday, but I can live without it.

What I do find a little annoying, is that I had the intention of putting TechSights on which ever bolt 22 I purchased, but with this Scout (which I was fully aware of) I'll have to find a smith to drill and tap the barrel for the front sight.

Currently the most annoying thing is I can't find any more 10rd mags for the gun. Since they were $30 I only ordered two when I first bought the rifle. Now every place is backordered or sold out. I suspect it'll be the same issue finding mags for a Marlin or Savage.

A good place to find bolt action 22's is through the CMP (if you qualify) or gunbroker or auctionarms if you have a FFL03. The good ones last a long time. I'm still shooting a M1922.

When I need magazines I look on gunbroker, auctionarms, or google it. Also gunpartscorp.com. Local gun shops tend to have the magazines for AR 15's and newer rifles. Watch out for people with odd notions of what something is worth and the idea of "collectible mags" is a joke.

              Best!

I was at my local gun shop and picked up a marlin model 81dl. Its tube fed bolt action. Old but in good shape.I got it for under 100. picked up today planning to take it out tuesday. Every once in awhile i see some 10-22 or marlin 60/795 on consignment but not to often.

Sportsman's Warehouse usually have bolt 22. I helped a friend pick up his first rifle - Marlin XT-22 SS from sportsman's $240+tax & dros. It is a tube fed bolt action. Very nice and very accurate.
