Well they do not work when they are factory but I have heard some people doing a modification to them to get them to work. Maybe someone can lead to the info or do a web search for like black dog mags with cmmg Bolt Hold Open. I think it can be done but I have never did it. I think you have to maybe change the follower and do a little minor filing..Goodluck

I have both (the black dog mags and the CMMG BHO). The CMMG part comes with instructions on how to modify blackdog mags to work properly with it. As they come standard the blackdog mags will lock the bolt open on empty but hitting the bolt-release will do nothing. CMMG's mags are already designed to work with all standard AR features but of course they cost more.

This is another viable option. It's what I am running on my cmmg evolution bolt and it's full function. Bhoa, and last round bolt hold open. And you get to use S&W 15 mags which I like over the black dogs myself. Have a looksie.

Just got these from 44mag. They do hold the bolt open as they come, on my CMMG upper.

With the Evolution mags and the BHOA, the bolts stays locked back when the mag is removed.

Ah, thanks for the info!

I always thought that the hold open with BDM mags was kind of useless since it closed when the mag was removed.
