Lightest cheapest 10/22 920 bull barrel?

Bought a 10/22 for the wife and want to get her the purple Boyds thumb hole stock to go with it. Only problem is I need a bull barrel. Which Barrel do you all recommend under 150$?

Heres a 16" with hogue stock for $139.95 but back ordered.

Not sure how much it weighs but Im sure its lighter than an 18" and 20" non-fluted bull barrel.

I wouldn't call tactical solutions a "cheap" option.

With that said I don't think you will find cheap and light.
I went with green mountain for under 100 bucks. I do not mind the weight since I'm building my 10/22 for bench shooting.

I agree with Fredo, cheap & light won't happen. If you want Steel, consider a SS tapered barrel. I have a 16" GM SS Fluted .920 barrel & a Blaster Stock, it's heavy! I would say a GM tapered & either a Boyds SS or a Blaster.

                +1 for a GM tapered!

Accurate as a bull, but lighter. They look cool too!

I agree with TacSol. I have the threaded version of the barrel and it's so light.

What is the best length for barrels in 10/22? I would imagine the longer the barrel the more energy would be spent getting it out of the barrel.

                        OP,

I'd up the budget a tad and go with Tactical Solutions or WhistlePig. WhistlePig barrels run $182-250 and TS start at about $175.

The alternative is a Boyd's stock designed for a factory barrel. Both Green Mountain and ER Shaw make factory profile (AKA "sporter") barrels with a Bentz chamber.

A 22LR reaches it's maximum velocity in roughly 16-17". The best length is the one you like and gives you the look and the weight balance that you're looking for.

Seems like you can't beat the price for a solid barrel

Keep in mind Tactical Solutions refuses to sell to residents of NY.

For this reason I won't even consider anything TacSol, I'll stick together with those behind enemy lines.
