    Purchasing AR15 online while overseas

I'm a soldier deployed to Midde East, and I will comeback to US around April. I want to purchase a CA-legal AR15 now and pick it up when I come back to avoid Obama potentially banning assault rifles. I'm looking for a CA-legal AR15 that can be reversed to non-CA legal when I go to Georgia and Texas. Any tips? Thanks.

    No tips.

Find a vendor that sells to California.
Find an FFL who is willing to receive and transfer the rifle for you.
Order and pay for the rifle.
Pick it up when you get back.

Given the backlog, if you order now, you might be able to pick it up in April.

Look at the advertisers above for recommended dealers. If you tell us where you'll be in April when you return, folks can recommend a decent recieving FFL.

Best of luck and stay safe.

While in Iraq, I emailed Ten Percent Firearms in Taft and confirmed I could buy online, and they would hold it in the store safe until my return. The DROS and 10 day wait would start when I got to the shop and filled out the paperwork.

So painless, I bought two receivers.

Your local gun shop may vary.
