I'm not sure if anyone answered your question. Therefore, I will post my latest experience regarding what I think you are asking.
Yes, I have experienced what I think you are describing. I double order for; 1 Federal Champion 525 and 1 box of Norma, my CC was charged accordingly. I received my order Friday. However, it only contained the 1 box of Norma, 1 Energy drink and my invoice showing both products ordered and paid for.
After going to my email from Cabala's it showed that the order had been split and the Federal is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.
When I initially showed back order for the Federal but I didn't think anything about it, when the status changed to "shipped".
Hope this make sense and helps.Glock 27, Sig Sauer P226, Glock 27Comment

Sorry, I didn't understand the question. Many times with multiple orders, they will be shipped from different locations. If you go to order history and view the order, they will tell you that. Sometimes a partial will be shipped with a UPS number, but the order in order history will still show in process. You need to view these orders to see if anything has been shipped. Cabelas, and Gander, unlike Midway, will only charge you the original shipping charge regardless of how many "boxes" they have to ship to you to fill your order. Hope this helps.I'm not sure if anyone answered your question. Therefore, I will post my latest experience regarding what I think you are asking.

It kinda goes like this...
Yes.
Basically when the item in question is either released or back in-stock it'll ship.
Sometimes if they get overwhelmed w/extreme volume, an item will ship and you won't get notification for a few days.
(ie. packed and label generated on Fri. notification & ship on Mon.)
I have a few multiples that have a straggler waiting for restock(Backorder).
Usually if on BO it works like so:
Say you have 3 items and the 1st 1 is in process while the other 2 are on backorder.
Initially when you placed the order they put a hold on your card for the full order amount.
That will fall off to be replaced with the actual charge for the item that ships + the full shipping amount.
When the next item ships, they will charge the amount of the next item only.
And so on till the order is completed.
ie. 3 items $23.99+$24.99+$49.99=$98.97
Shipping would be $5 w/card or $12.95 without.
Ok, for the sake of argument you don't have the Visa.
$98.97+12.95=111.92(Order total and Initial hold)
Item $23.99 ships and the other 2 go to BO.
When the charge is finalized it will show $36.94($23.99+$12.95).
The next item $24.99 comes in next month, your charged that amount and the item ships out.
It continues this way till the order is completed.
If any others come in-stock as well that will be your total charge amount.
IOW if both items happen to restock at the same time,
then your charge would be $74.98($24.99+$49.99)
There could also be times when the 1st says shipped, 2nd says processing and 3rd says BO.
In actuality the 1st 2 shipped and sometimes it doesn't update right away.
(1 and 2 might come from different warehouses or the same, It doesn't matter.)
There's been other screwy things that have occurred, but you get the idea.
So don't sweat it, As long as you play by the rules, if it's processing or BO, you're usually GTG.
Bottom line: No matter how it's shipped, You'll only pay the original ship amount.
Hope this helps clarify things a bit...
