I also just got a variety of 22lr I ordered from Cabelas on various days last week.

I, too, came home today to a nice Cabela's surprise - 2 boxes from 2 different orders, and 1 box that I can't find on any order, but am happy to have. If I am unable to account for the 3rd box I'll either have to call and pay for it, or chalk it up to good Karma. ****!

I love them, it's my guns who don't like them. Most of my guns shoot them with only a few problems. I hate shooting a round where the bullet rotates and wobbles in the casing. For up close distances, they are fair. When I put them into one of my 10/22's at 100 yards, half of them don't hit the target. No idea where they go. I might get 1 or 2 into a 6 inch circle. Using CCI 40 gr or Fed 710 or 810, nine out of ten will be inside a 4 inch circle. The tenth will be close. I'm not a marksman. I just started shooting the 10/22 6 months ago and I'm still impressed with how accurate it can be.

My SR22 has no problem with them but my Buckmark stovepipes often with them.

My friends shoot them all day, but at short distances. I have to admit, they are priced to shoot. I've seen them as low as $17.99 and no tax.

This is my experience with GB's too. 1-2 rounds per mag will be wildly inaccurate. I've shot about 3000 of them this year just trying to get through my inventory. I've sworn them off and doubt I'll buy anymore, but I am definitely a sucker for in-stock .22 these days. I fact, I bought a brick of Thunderbolts the other day after I'd sworn I was only buying CCI or Federal from now on.

Cabelas canceled my golden bullets order around 2 to 3 weeks back saying backorder and then sold out for season, just to have some in stock today.

What's wrong, is people buying ammo here and then ripping people off for the same ammo in the classifieds.

I don't think he is questioning your right to buy ammo and resell it for more than twice what you paid for it on the sales section. The issue with it (At least MY issue with it) is people like you are part of the problem with supply right now.


I just purchased a 10/22 last week, and since I do not currently own a .22, I have NO ammo supply built up at all. I will be swinging by my local wally world and local sporting goods stores for the next few weeks in search of something to feed my new gun, on top of checking this thread. What I will not do is pay 2X more than I need too because I am in a tight spot.

It is absolutely your right to resell whatever you like for profit, but please don't talk of "freedom" like you are some sort of patriot for gouging your fellow gun enthusiasts.

I too, like you, just jailed a couple of 22lr guns and am puzzled by our capitalistic friends - to each their own, I guess. . I started my quest for 22 ammo last month and have received a few of my back orders with a couple more coming in at the end of this week. I have acquired more than I need for now and probably set for the next few months so you are welcome to a couple of bricks at my cost if your quest does not pan out.

There's actually been quite a few people selling at cost all year. There were surprisingly few takers, and when there was a lot of CCI flooding the market it seemed like we were done with that for a while. Now it seems like things have tightened up again and people have Christmas .22s.

Anybody else who's really truly out of the stuff? I'm sure there are people in every area who could free up a brick at cost or close to it.

if you watch this thread and this one, religiously, you will get some ammo at reasonable prices.

We got our first pistol, buckmark, a few months ago and was in the same spot, got gun but no ammo to shoot with. local outdoors store had some then found this site and the others. We were able to relatively quickly build up a small supply; we shoot weekly 200-300 rounds. Cabelas has been very good to us and have been able to get 22lr ammo delivered for $.05-.$06/ round.

Kingosat and Puzzled, can't thank you enough for your kind offers. My gun is jailed until next week, so I will continue my search before I ask anyone to dig into thier own stash, but certainly appreciate it

Overheard someone late yesterday at Walmart saying Faith Armory out here in Temecula just got some .22LR in, I will be calling them shortly to check.
