The only consistency you will get with bulk .22LR ammo is that there are always going to be inconsistencies in their ability to properly cycle your semi auto pistol. This goes for Remington, Winchester, & Federal. Prior to this panic, I've had my hands on pretty every single bulk ammo available on the market and have tried it all. The only bulk .22LR that has cycled reliably for me has been CCI AR Tactical and CCI ChootEms.Comment

Sounds typical for my experience with GB's. They tend to slam into the bottom of the ramp on my Ruger 22/45. I feel that the loose wobbly bullets are part of the problem. Like trying to feed a wet noodle into the chamber. Still have half a bucket + a 525 brick of Goldens. Federal bulk has been way over 99% reliable for me.Has anyone shot any of the not so golden bullets they got from a few weeks ago from cabelas???... I had a failure to feed about 1 out of every ten shot in my ruger 10/22 and it usually eats Everything with ease!!! Very smoky power and lots of residue left. Some even sounded like duds but still fired. On the other hand the thunderduds performed flawlessly and were more accurate. ..

haha this is true. Shot some GB in an old ruger semi today and it had at least 1 FTF every magazine, it may or may not have been the magazine because they would eventually feed/fire. The marlin ate it like cake though. The only consistency you will get with bulk .22LR ammo is that there are always going to be inconsistencies in their ability to properly cycle your semi auto pistol. I'm pretty bummed about the price increase on the blazer overnight. I do not see that as inflation (but please don't throw your economics degree at me) but more on cabelas part of trying to get some more profit since we have been buying it for almost 5 days straight haha Hopefully they don't raise their federal bulk when they get more in!
Gander update. 2 fresh fire and 2 bricks of federal champion and my m22 shipped. Jesus wept.Comment

Thanks---That's what I was looking for---Have you or anyone opened one of these and fired them with a mag---Do they perform ok?---I just received one in the mail from Cabelas and am very impressed with the package---Especially for longer storage---Would like to get more if they fire well.http://www.gandermountain.com/modper...-PLHP&i=729283
I received an e-mail this morning that my order from two days ago is on hold (back-order). Arrival of fresh fire cans soon (no date given).

I used to bring out like 3 or 4 different types of 22lr ammo on range days with labels with what work with what gunThe only consistency you will get with bulk .22LR ammo is that there are always going to be inconsistencies in their ability to properly cycle your semi auto pistol. Wondering if my wife be pissed if she gets up in the morning and there are no flowers on the kitchen table......
...but instead a lovely 3 tiered arrangement of .22's?
Fed bricks on the bottom
Fresh Fire cans in the middle
Assorted 50's next
with a little box of CCI Velocitor's at the very top.
Better stick with the flowers....
karma ?

Thankfully, there is no such thing as karma.

Historically, CCI has made the best affordable .22 LR Ammo. (Yes, that is a period)
If you have money to through at the Ammo wall, you can purchase more expensive Brand Ammo. However, I love to "Choot EM" and moderately priced CCI is the one for me! (Not the over priced CCI the gougers sell)
Good nite every body!

This is just plain insane.
I had to check one last Trap before turning inn. I'm not going to mention the name but here is the post that I found there:
"I wrote to CCI asking them to explain why their ammo and .22LR in general is so hard to find. Here is an email I got back:"
""We are making over 3,000,000 rounds of rimfire a day. I have people every day looking for 5,000 - 1,000,000 rounds shipped to their houses. It just doesn't go very far.
Make Every Shot Count!
