    BRNO ZKM 611

Anyone else been looking at getting into 22 magnums ? I figure rimfires will escape much of this "assault weapons" legislation; because to go after them for their "looks" too, would make the gun grabbers motives outright obvious.

So, I bought a BRNO 611. It's on it's way to the FFL now.

Anyone have any experience with them ?

These are great guns; hard to purchase magazines (very expensive); works much better with a scope (the sights are not adjustable); very accurate with a scope

My old FFL had one of those for sale a few years ago for $350 or so (NIB).
Should have picked it up. He told me he used one while living in Europe as a Fox getter.
        He loved the gun!

If you have a need for this type of weapon, and can find a ZKM 611, buy it at any price. It is the best weapon in its class.

I've had one for several years. I needed a rifle for a situation where I was limited to a rimfire for self-defense, and it fills the role admirably.

It's a beautifully made weapon, blued steel and amazing wood. I mounted a red dot sight from Big 5, and have shot jack rabbits on the run with it. It breaks down into two parts with one thumbscrew. It's accurate and ergonomic ( I get dime-sized groups at 25 yards).

In power, it's between .22 LR and .223. I set up some watermelons, and shot them with .38 SPL standard velocity Nyclad HP rounds and the Winchester .22 MAG HP rounds from this rifle, and the .22 MAG was blowing them apart while the .38 just split them.

The disadvantages of the weapon are that they are expensive and nearly unattainable (I think Brno went out of business in 2005). The mags are expensive (probably $100+ for a ten-rounder, IF you could find them). Finally, while the weapon fieldstrips easily, the bolt is tricky to disassemble/reassemble.

You might see if you can contact "Denny" on Rimfire Central http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/index.php he was the West Coast importer/distributor for Brno before CZ gobbled them up.

Forgot to report: The 611 is handsome, smooth as butter, quite accurate, and the ergonomics fit me perfect.

              Thanks gents
